Mayra is a Bilingual Licensed Master Social Worker and Qualified Mental Health Professional-Community Services. She is under clinical supervision with Suisan Walker, LCSW-S licenses #58396. She earned her Bachelor's and Master’s in social work from Stephen F. Austin State University. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Mayra’s clinical experience is working with children and adolescents in a school setting.
She has five-year experience in working with neurodivergent children and adolescents, families, chronic illness, geriatric age patients, hospital settings, and foster care.
Through a client-centered approach, Mayra creates a safe and non-judgmental space for
individuals to explore their emotions and develop effective coping strategies. She considers the client’s culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, spirituality, and social factors in her practice.
With a focus on evidence-based modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-
based cognitive therapy, and motivational interviewing. Mayra collaboratively develops
personalized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. By fostering self-reflection, personal growth, and resilience, Mayra empowers individuals to overcome challenges and find self-acceptance.
In addition to individual therapy, Mayra has experience leading group sessions and
workshops, creating a supportive community where individuals can connect and learn together.
Mayra enjoys going on hot girl walks with her chihuahua, Rubi, playing soccer, and traveling
with her husband and friends. She looks forward to meeting you and working with you to become the best version of yourself.
